Do you think that rock and country are fading and the music world is becoming dominated by rap and hip hop?

Last i checked, there were 9 country songs on the billboard top 100. There were however, 15 rap/hip hop songs. Rock, which is diminishing but still strong, held a pretty fair number of spaces with 16 and songs of the pop genre held 12. I forgot how many spaces were held by R&B, Inspirational, or alternative songs. What’s even more alarming is that 8 of those 15 rap/ hip hop songs were in the top 40! Is American music losing its variety to a genre that speaks of nothing but *** and violence?!
